It's almost October and the mad dash for holidays will begin soon. 2009 was a bad year for a lot of my friends and it seems as though 2010 has lived up to the challenge of being even worse. After December we'll all breath a sigh of relief and start over again with new intentions, goals, and a repurposed drive to settle our scores. Soon the local radio station, KEXP, will start playing The Mountain Goat's "This Year" regularly. The leaves will change. We'll all get a little soft. The leaves will fall. It will snow. 2011 will be better.
